ABA therapy by behavior and condition
Some families call us about one behavior that has taken over the day. These are the behaviors and conditions we write plans for, at home, with parent coaching built in.
Behaviors and conditions
- AggressionHitting, biting and kicking, reduced with a Functional Behavior Assessment and a new way to communicate.
- Tantrums & MeltdownsPlans that treat a tantrum and a meltdown differently, because they are different.
- Elopement & WanderingSafety plans for kids who bolt or wander, with parent coaching built in.
- Self-Injurious BehaviorFunction-based plans for head-banging, biting and other self-injury, led by a named BCBA.
- Refusing DirectionsWhy a demand fails, how to make it doable, and how to make it worth doing, without forced compliance.
- Throwing & Breaking ThingsFunction-based plans for destructive behavior at home.
- ADHD with AutismHow behavioral support helps with focus, what insurance covers, and the honest limits.
- Sensory ProcessingGradual desensitization and environment changes for sounds, textures and crowds.
How we approach behavior
We start by working out why the behavior happens. Then the plan teaches your child another way to get the same need met.
We follow your child's lead. When they say no or pull away, we take that seriously and try another way.
